The many advantages of the
RISE system make it interesting
to upgrade your traditional
block system with RISE. Upgrading
with RISE not only improves
the fire rating, but also instantly
doubles the usable space inside
any bock system transfer frame.
Existing installations can
easily be upgraded to the RISE
sealing system using extension
frames. Another option is to
install a frame around the existing
transit frame spot welded to
the deck or bulkhead.
The extension frames are necessary
because the depths of most of
the transit frames are too short
to offer the required thermal
insulation during a fire. To
fulfil this criterion for all
types of cables a minimum depth
of 200 mm is an absolute must.
By making use of the RISE EXTEND-A-FRAMES
the required depth can easily
be obtained.
To install the RISE EXTEND-A-FRAME
the two halves are positioned
around the cables and pushed
into the transit frame. The
10 mm high flanges on the top
and bottom of the extension
frame correspond with the wall
thickness of the block system
transits. The flanges must be
firmly seated against the transit
frame. Then the bolts and nuts
on the top and bottom flanges
are installed. For optimum stability
the EXTEND-A-FRAME should be
spot welded to the existing
transit frame.
After installing the RISE EXTEND-A-FRAME
insert sleeves are placed around
each cable. The sleeves are
pushed into the frame leaving
20 mm of free space at the front
and the back of the transit.
Finally a 20 mm layer of FIWA
sealant is applied at both sides
of the frame. See the assembly
instructions for the final finishing
of the cable penetration.
